Water's Edge platinum reputation spans decades and has been recently re-awakened and transformed when acquired the the Singh Hospitality Group. This landmark venue is set on the East River where breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, Queens Borough Bridge and Roosevelt Island are second only to the service, cuisine and warm embrace of hospitality all around.
Water's Edge specializes in weddings as well as social and corporate events within its restaurant and private ballroom. On site amenities include a bride's room, outdoor dining and balcony. In addition, guests may choose to arrive in luxury aboard the Water's Edge Ferry and take advantage of various party boats available for cocktail hours, after hour parties or an entire event.
After the Water's Edge site tour, the program began. There are many behind the scenes wedding day emergencies that professional wedding planners must learn to handle with unflappable grace. Lynn Jawitz, Owner and Head Designer of Florisan LLC, presented the topic: "How to Handle Wedding Floral Emergencies."Lynn showed attendees:
1. How to make an emergency floral bouquet.
2. What every planner should have in their car to handle every floral emergency possible.
3. How to be unflappable in any floral emergency.
As an experienced floral designer, Lynn Jawitz creates a whole new Garden of Eden for the world to see one impeccable arranged bouquet at a time. More than a florist in the traditional sense, Lynn is a floral architect combining the best of English and Dutch traditional designs to create a lush wonderland of floral fantasy. A graduate of Brandeis University and Washington University Law School, she has been both a lawyer and a stock broker. It is Lynn's love of architecture and design however, that led her to study with both British master florist Heather Shaw and Dutch floral master Henri TeHave at New York's Parson's School of Design. After working with Kiyoko Horvath of Kiro Studio, she became known among the elite Japanese socialites and rock stars alike as the floral designer of choice for brides who wishes to indulge in the fashionable practice of "eloping" to New York for a western style ceremony.
At "How to Handle Floral Emergencies," Lynn shared many tips such as keeping an extra vase or two in your car just in case, keeping a wrist corsage holder handy and the types of tape to keep in your wedding planner emergency kit.
