Eco-Friendly - Sustain & Heal Stationery

While I was at the National Stationery Show last week I discovered many eco-friendly vendors and beautiful products. I'll be featuring these lovely products throughout the following weeks.

Introducing "Sustain & Heal”, a new design from De Milo Design introduced in 2008. It is an idea that began to take shape in 2003 when Annika Buxman, De Milo's designer and letterpress print, learned about Fair Trade through 10,000 Villages, a Fair Trade handicrafts retailer that has shops in many major cities. Fair Trade is a grassroots movement that focuses on relationships with people who have been marginalized by war, weather and damaging cultural systems. Fair Trade Certification requires the producing organization to demonstrate adherence to strict Fair Trade Practices.

The invitations by “Sustain & Heal” use Fair Trade paper from Kenya, Rwanda and Bangladesh. If they can’t get it Fair Trade, the designs are supplemented by 100% Post Consumer Waste recycled paper produced by earth sustaining methods. With “Sustain & Heal” invitations your celebration sustains the planet and heals lives!
